Companies in all of Spain and Portugal can soon take advantage of the combined ICT expertise of Spanish IT service provider Metrolico and T-Systems.
The systems division of Deutsche Telekom is pursuing ambitious goals with this acquisition: T-Systems wants to be number 3 among the ICT service providers on the Iberian Peninsula. The acquisition of Metrolico is an important milestone on this path. The former subsidiary of Lico Corporation has a strong position on the local market in the areas of infrastructure management, maintenance and technical support. The Spanish IT specialist has important customers mainly in the Spanish financial sector, which is currently undergoing major changes. This creates a huge business potential especially for IT service providers. “The acquisition of Metrolico underscores our international strategy for growth,” says Telekom board member and T-Systems CEO Reinhard Clemens. “This acquisition is a step toward expanding our position in the top bracket of Iberian service providers and can offer our customers a service that is even more comprehensive.”
More locations means more proximity to customers
T-Systems and Metrolico complement each other perfectly in the industry. T-Systems is already the industry leader for Public and Automotive in Spain. By integrating Metrolico the ICT service provider can also strengthen its presence in important markets like the central and southern regions as well as Galicia. With 66 locations in close proximity to the customer, the ICT service provider can now offer high service quality everywhere. Technical support can be on site in record time, if necessary. This also makes T-Systems a leader for customer service in Spain.
